Write Lines project - Harrow

Write Lines is a youth poetry project involving students from Harrow Schools.  The purpose of the project is to introduce culturally diverse young people to professional poets and encourage them with their own creative writing.

The schools and poets:
In 2006/7, three schools took part - Bentley Wood School, Nower Hill High School and Weald Middle School - assisted by poets Jacob Sam La Rose, Sundra Lawrence and and Charlie Dark.  This year two more schools - Sacred Heart Language College and Canons High School - have got involved with the project, taking the total to five.  The students are working with poet coaches Malika Booker, Dan Cockrill, Sundra Lawrence, Roger Robinson and Jacob Sam La Rose.

Last year:
The project culminated in a performance showcase at Harrow Arts Centre in November 2006.  The performance was recorded by the organisation penned in the margins for broadcast on the arts community station Resonance FM (on 17th December 2006).
